Implenia has implemented the extension of the stabling area at Lillestrøm station. The stabling capacity at Lillestrøm has significantly increased and is now able to facilitate the new NSB Flirt trains.

Project scope. The project consisted of the substructure and railway engineering works for the extension of the Lillestrøm stabling. Old contaminated mass has been removed, a new substructure is established, new platforms constructed, a new water and sewerage system installed and new tracks and switch points have been built as well as new electrical and overhead line systems. Also included were upgrades to the substructure and tracks in the operations area for Jernbaneverket.

Increased capacity in Eastern Norway. In addition to increasing the stabling capacity at Lillestrøm, maintenance work is now simplified through new platforms, water and sewerage and train heating systems. The operations area is more accessible and easier to run. This project is one of a number of projects implemented to facilitate the upgrades to the timetable in Eastern Norway and the implementation of new sets of trains to increase capacity for passenger transport.
