Improved service for passengers

Improved service for passengers

Increased numer of commuter parking spaces and more train departures for the travelers.

Stabekk station

In connection with the temporary closing of the Drammen Railway between Lysaker and Sandvika in the summer of 2014, Jernbaneverket (The Norwegian National Rail Administration) assessed that the period should be used for improvements at Stabekk station. The station was not accessible for the handicapped and a culvert and platform was damaged, this was something the client wanted to improve.

Stabekk station

Project scope. The old culvert was demolished and partially refilled and a new pedestrian culvert established, provided with drainage facilities under all tracks. The old platform has been demolished and the new platform has been built with heated pavement and ceilings. New stairways and two elevators are in place, and a new heat pump in the technical room. Railway foundations and facilities for drainage and surface water have been built as well as the substructure and bottom ballasting for the tracks.

Improved service for passengers. The number of commuter parking spaces has increased from 88 to 110. After the station reopened there are far more train departures for the travelers. Stabekk station is now the end station for both the Moss Railway and the Ski Railway, where previously Skøyen station was the end station. Along with increased departures on the Spikkestad – Lillestrøm Railway, this has led to a far better service for the travelers.
