Eiganes tunnel will relieve the local roads for through-traffic. The goal is to reduce accidents in the area; the project also aims to environmental improvement along the current road. The passability of the roads will improve and travel time will be reduced.

E39 Eiganes tunnel

Project scope. The project consists of 5 km of new four-lane road, of which 3.7 km is the Eiganes tunnel. Additionally the project includes; construction of ca. one km of the Hundvåg tunnel, a comprehensive system of access and exit ramps and one km of new road between Schancheholen and the roundabout by Madla road. The project also includes four new roundabouts, a 170 m long culvert and one km of bicycle path between Stavanger city centre and Forus.
